Moda Bakeshop October 11, 2009

For those that know me and know me as a sewer know I love Moda Fabrics. Moda is one of the many manufacturers of quilting fabric.

There is a site called Moda Bake Shop where a new sewing project is featured every few days. The post today is something I think I might try out. Even better yet, the designer and poster of this particular project at Bitty Bits and Pieces is doing a giveaway on her site. If I get the one, maybe I’d be more inclined to make the rest for my table. Wishful thinking? Probably.

Here is a picture of the dresden plate charger I borrowed from her site.

Isn't it cute?

I hope I get the time to make a few.

Zipper Installing October 7, 2009

While on my trip to California in July, I found a pattern for a little bag I couldn’t pass up in Phoenix, AZ. My friend Joyce, on her trip to Minnesota at the same time, coincidentally bought the same exact pattern. We made a few of them a little while ago. It was my first time putting in a zipper. Here are the two I made.

Now you might be wondering why the photos are exceptional. If not, well you should. My friend Sara has a fancy schmancy camera and lights she let me play with.

You can do a lot with 22 hours. Clean your house from top to bottom. Drive to Los Angeles from Houston. Watch a lot of TV. But me, I made a quilt.

Coming soon to a pattern cover near you! 🙂

Crocheted Booties October 2, 2009

I am so excited about the completion (well, almost) of my first crochet project. I had to wait for my crochet hooks to arrive in the mail and then I was off to Hobby Lobby (ie the best store ever!) to get some yarn to practice on. While I was perusing the isles I thought I could make booties for my friend’s baby shower on Friday. Yup. Two days to make booties. And I did it!

Still needs the ties, but pretty darn close to completion.

Tomorrow… the completion of a matching hat and the booties with ties.
